Personal journey, qualifications, and philosophy.

My Journey: Passion to Profession

"For over 12 years I have worked with dogs in a variety of roles, and my passion for them continues to grow. I feel incredibly fortunate that dogs are not only my hobby, but also my livelihood.

Alongside years of hands-on experience working with different breeds, I remain committed to continually learning and developing my knowledge.

I am surrounded by a wealth of knowledge, experience and support which allows me to continually progress and grow within the industry to maintain and deliver the very best to my clients.

I work with clients across Leicestershire, Warwickshire, Northamptonshire and Derbyshire, helping owners build clear communication, trust and understanding with their dogs. I strongly believe that a well-trained dog is able to enjoy the freedom, enrichment and quality of life it deserves. Responsible dog ownership is about providing dogs with guidance, structure and clarity so they can safely enjoy the world around them.

Every dog and owner partnership is different, which is why I work closely with each client to build a clear picture of both the dog’s behaviour and the owner’s goals. This allows me to create practical, realistic training plans tailored to the individual dog in front of me.

Outside of client work, I enjoy training my own dogs all over the UK, learning from highly respected trainers and within industry.

Training Ethos

I use positive reinforced based training techniques, in that I reward dogs for doing a good job.

I work closely with the owner to develop a clear picture of the dog’s history and background with a clear objective of ensuring the dog can live its best life.

I believe in a calm, relaxed and professional approach, maintaining clear communication, consistency, and fairness throughout the process, setting both the dog and handler up to succeed in achieving their goal.

What Our Clients Say

Hear from dog owners who have transformed their relationships with their dogs.

"I completed Penny's early learning course with my boxer pup over a year ago now.

The course offered a vital mix of theoretical and practical learnings, delivered in a group setting over a number of sessions. Penny presented each segment beautifully, providing essential guidance throughout, starting before even stepping out of the car!

Penny creates an ethos of tranquillity and composure and is able to tailor exercises for each breed of dog seamlessly. The advice Penny provided has been priceless in our ability to train and produce the family dog that we wished for, alongside her ongoing mentorship and support when needed.

We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Penny regardless of the age, breed or discipline of dog - she has incredible knowledge, passion and talent for all things K9 and we will be returning to learn further disciplines soon."

"Fantastic advice and guidance to help with a range of difficulties with our pup. 100% happier owners and dog thanks to Penny."

Cat Strickland, 2026

"I can't recommend Penny highly enough!
Penny initially helped me following a behaviour consult for a sudden behaviour change in one of my dogs.

We were taught new skills that I hadn't gained with previous dogs (so you will DEFINITELY learn), and also then joined a sniffing course. My large working breed absolutely LOVED the course - it puts his brain towards work and Penny's patience and knowledge meant I could learn at a pace and in a way to suit me.

Following on, I was able to sign my retired show dog up to the sniffer course, following a significant health care trauma the dog had gone through. Again, my dog absolutely loved it, and with Penny's expertise she was able to help me with my dog's developed anxiety. We've also embarked on the gundog training, which for my working breed is giving me so many more skills in my toolbox.

Penny offers a mix of lessons suitable for everyone, group or one-to-ones. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her! You will not regret it!"
